My name is Yassi and I work at Plug and Play Tech Center – a technology accelerator in Silicon Valley. I am writing to let you know about an exciting funding program that we will launch starting in June. We would love to have Duke be a part of this program. We will reserve a slot for Duke startups in this program. Please see details below.
If you have time next week, I'd like to set up a phone call to discuss this further.
We welcome all student entrepreneurs and university startups to apply to 2 exciting opportunities this summer!
Plug & Play University EXPO, May 19 ---- 20 of the best university business plan competition winners and startups will be selected to give a 3-min elevator pitch on stage to a live audience of VCs, Angel Investors, Corporate and Media partners. The top teams, as chosen by a panel of investors, will be invited to take part in our Startup Camp program. www.plugandplaytechcenter.com/uexpo
Startup Camp, 3-month program, Jun-Aug ----- 20 university startup teams will be selected to participate in a 3-month acceleration program over the summer, where they will receive coaching and mentorship from the Plug & Play network as well as pitching opportunities with VC and Angel investors. www.plugandplaystartupcamp.com
The goal for the program is to learn from Silicon Valley's culture, build your company and depending on the stage of the company, get funding:
· $25,000 cash
· Up to $800k seed funding
· $2-3 million Series A
We welcome companies to join us, and build the next Google, DropBox and Zoosk together.
